Indonesia cancels Komodo Island from closing down

Indonesian authorities have cancelled plans to close Komodo island to tourists, with the country’s environment ministry saying that Komodo dragons living there are not under threat from over-tourism. So Indonesia cancels Komodo Island from closing down.
In July, authorities in East Nusa Tenggara province said that the island would be closed for one year from January 2020 according to The Guardian. They want tourist to stop visiting because they don’t want tourist interfering in the mating and hatching processes of the komodo dragon population.
It was due to re-open after a year but the government has now said a membership scheme will be introduced.
In 2018, 176,000 people visited Komodo, up from 44,000 people in 2008.
The island would re-open after a year but as a more exclusive destination, the governor said.
“People will have to become members and pay $1,000 [£790] to enter for a year,” said the region’s governor, Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat, at the time. “I think that’s cheap.”

Komodo Dragon is the world largest lizard. They can grow up to 3 meters (10Ft) long and have razor-sharp teeth and a poisonous bite. They kill their prey by bite with their poisonous venom saliva and let their prey bleed to death.
In 2013, a Komodo dragon that wandered into the office of a wildlife park in eastern Indonesia attack two people. After that accident, They both were taken to the hospital. Have you ever heard vicious Animal didn’t attack human?
Around 2000 people lived in Komodo Island. There are about 5700 Komodo Dragons in the wild being estimate. The safety on this island is still okay, just follow the instruction from the tourist guide.
The whole national park is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
